T Stands for Tuesday

Hello again my Tuesday Friends!
Running late again but I am showing up this week.
Last week was a lost cause.... I feel on the ice the week before...twice actually. So I was barely moving and still not much better.  I went to the doctor yesterday and he gave me pain meds and recommended I see the Pain Specialist again for another steroid injection. It's been a year since I had the last one.
Then on Wednesday of last week Bob had to have Parathyroid surgery. You have Four Parathyroid glands and they control the calcium levels in you blood/body. One of his had gone into overdrive and was flooding his bloodstream with calcium. Pulling it from his bones. This causes all kinds of crazy problems throughout your body. So they had to remove the one that was being problematic.
So now when someone asks him what happens he tells them he smarted off to me one time to many....LOL!
Here's my coffee for the day.
All of our snow has melted  so the deck table is cleared off again. I move my garden  frog to it so I can watch it spin when the wind blows. It's been spinning a lot lately.
It's been bitter cold here too and the birds are busy at the feeders again.

There are a lot more of them but I didn't want to overload the post with bird pictures.
Dad has been back in the hospital again with pneumonia again and now we have found out that he also has excess fluid build up on his brain that is causing the muscle spasm and weakness that he has been having. He is too week to operate on to fix it. They said he would survive the surgery. So he is back at home now and we have put him on Hospice Care. This will be a big help for my sister as they are having someone come in for 3- 5 hours a day five days a week.
Plus they have provided a lot of equipment that makes caring for him easier.
Random Thoughts for Today

Don't forget to visit the other folks at the tea party . Just click on the blue teapot on the ride sidebar.

  1. Sorry you are all having health problems just now. Hope your pains soon subside and that your husband soon recovers from the OP. Not good news about your dad, but glad he is getting care. Great photos, thanks for sharing. All the best for you all. Happy T day, hugs, Valerie

  3. Goodness, Carol. When bad things happen, they happen in threes. First your falls, then your husband's surgery, now your dad is in hospice care. It sounds like the end of life stage, and I'm worried for you. Since he won't survive surgery and he won't live very long without it, I am truly sorry this is happening to you and your father. I wish I could do something for you, but I live too far away to do so.

I DID get two good laughs today. I thought the frog was a teapot until I enlarged the photo. I hadn't read what you wrote yet, so should have done that first.

The second laugh was the final random thought. At first, I thought the husband had paid the doctor to tell his wife that.

I LOVE your bird photos. Any time I see a cardinal, I am in heaven.

Thanks for sharing your mug on the patio table (along with the frog), your bird photos, and your health issues with us for T this Tuesday. Please get better for yourself, your husband, and your father.

  4. Sorry to read that your husband has had surgery, I hope he is on the way to a good recovery. I also hope you are okay after your falls. It must be very upsetting for you with the news about your dad, but its good that he is getting extra care.
I loved the fun metal frog beside your mug of coffe, it must make you smile when you look at it.
Happy T day wishes and please look after yourself.

  5. Most of all, I'm saddened by the news about your dad and how the whole family is suffering. I remember the pre-hospice days with our dad. It's very very hard. You're in my thoughts and prayers, Carol.

I'm also sorry you're hurting. You have to learn the penguin shuffle, as Halle called it at T today.

It's scary what one's own body can (would) do to you, isn't it? What did you use on Bob, a kitchen knife - just kidding? Wishing you both speedy recoveries.

Love your garden frog. I've never seen such a cute one before. I bet it's mesmerizing to watch.

Sending lots of positive energy your way. I'm very glad you joined us at T for a little pick-me-up. Eileen xx

  7. I hope you get past the pain quickly Carol and the hubby gets his calcium levels straightened out. I would say you have had a lot on your plate lately. But I do love seeing the bird photos. You have some nice woodpeckers. Today I saw a flock of bluebirds, the first time ever for me. It was very exciting. Take care on the ice please. Hugs-Erika

  8. Hope you are feeling a bit better after the falls and that your hubby soon feels better as well.

A wonderful picture with your drink and crazy pot. It would make me smile every time I saw it on the table.

Love the bird pictures and the quotes with a fun postcard as well

    Hope you enjoyed T Day

  9. I've heard that some cases of osteoporosis are caused by parathyroid issues. I trust he's recovering well from his surgery.

You have a wonderful variety of birds! I love your photos. I can't get close-ups as good as yours.

Hospice care can be a blessing, but I'm sorry your dad can't have the surgery. Medical issues get more frustrating the older we get :(

Late for T Day, but I'm glad I saw those pics :)

  10. So much to deal with, but it seems like things will be better for the hubby and even for your dad--well, for your sister caring for him. And please be extra careful on the ice out there! I love the variety of birds you have! *hugs*

  11. I'm sad to hear your dad is so poorly. But having hospice care is fantastic. I worked as a hospice nurse for more than 25 years and if the system is similar to that in the UK, your dad will be well looked after.
I smiled at your hubby's comment about his wound. Joking aside, it is good he has had it seen to.
Sorry to hear you have fallen again. Do be careful. The winter isn't over yet.
It is lovely to see all those birds feeding in this harsh weather.
    Happy (belated) T-Day,
    Lisca

  14. Still catching up on reading, so sorry to hear of the medical issues with your husband and father. I hope things improve soon. The bird pics are wonderful! I have all those at my feeder too, except for the last one with the red head and white chest, what is that one?

  15. I'm sorry to hear about your fall on the ice, it's been so treacherous around here, too and I'm always glad when it snows some to cover up the stuff until spring. I hope your husband feels better soon, I've heard parathyroid issues can make you feel downright dreadful. Also sorry to read about your father; hospice care is a blessing, though. I would not have been able to cope without it with my mother. I love your bird photos, never too many of them!
