"T" Stands for TOTALLY TOASTED TUESDAY!

HELLO!
It's past being rather warm outside today and entered into the 'TOTALLY TOASTED ZONE"  :(
Feels like temps of 107°
at least the humidity is slightly lower than it has been lately.
I've been in Zombie mode for several days now...
between the hot and humid weather and the fact that I have just plan pushed myself way to hard the past couple of weeks.
I know better... I do... but somehow I keep doing it to myself.
So today has been a catch up day at an extremely slow pace.
I was out early to pick what was ready in the garden...
..... Spaghetti Squash..more tomatoes some Asian long green beans and more parsley.
The tomatoes went into the blanching pot...
... a few at a time for 3 minutes.
...then into the sink with cold water. The skins just peel right off then.
Unfortunately this is as far as I've gotten today... they will go in the fridge and tomorrow morning I will can them. It was just too hot outside to heat up the kitchen in the afternoon sun.
Not much art this week either...
did some fine tuning to an old painting.
Also showing my "Lemon Zinger" iced tea  for my drink of the day :)
I did finally get the ATC  for last weeks swap done and in the envelope for tomorrows mail
Today's random thoughts....

  1. "I believe I should go to the beach"-my mantra!! Won't be long now either and I cannot wait. Love seeing all the wonderful produce you are getting from your garden. Been SO hot here too-and worse expected for tomorrow... best to do little outdoors and more inside. Beautiful canvas Carol! Happy T day-and stay cool!

  2. Beautiful bounty from your garden! It is very hot and humid here right now, too. I'm almost ready for Autumn to kick in! Hope you give yourself a rest and feel better.

  3. I'd love to live close enough to be able to go to the beach. Fun :) But maybe not in this heat. We're having hot weather here, too, with a heat index predicted today of 113F! I agree with you about the oven. Let's eat the veggies raw! :)

  4. I apologize for being so late visiting this week, but after working much of the day and walking around the zoo in the evening (second week in a row), I was just too tired to fight with my computer and slow internet. Until now, that is. Talk about HOT. It was super hot at the zoo, I was actually sick with heat exhaustion (not quite to the heat stroke stage) by the time I got home. I took forever to cool down. I don't understand how our ancestors lived in this heat, and I don't understand how much of Great Britain goes without AC.

Because we left for the zoo about 5 pm, I missed the weather, so have NO idea how hot it was or even the heat index for the day.

My friend Kathy gave me that tip about tomatoes. I agree it's a very easy way to peel tomatoes. I've even eaten them raw/fresh in sandwiches after doing that. I got NO tomatoes this year, and most of my herbs are dying, too. I have NO green thumb this year. I DiD finally, with my friend's help, get the blackberry vines off the ground and back where they belong.

Your painting is incredible, and it looks great next to the Lemon Zinger tea. Thanks for sharing these for T this week. Again, sorry I was so late visiting.

  5. Seems alot of us are suffering in the heat.
For me it's the dingdang humidity that makes it really unbearable (I never complain in winter btw) :-) thank goodness for A/C
Seems to me you get quite a bit accomplished...you have alot going on...take care Carol!
Stay cool and thank you for visiting my Magpie's Nest and leaving your nice comment.

  6. I totally agree that this heat is making us so tired. But no complaints as we only will get couple more months of this weather. I have never tried canning. This looks so interesting.
    Have a great week

  10. I hope you enjoyed yesterday, Carol. Such a refreshing change in the weather. Humidity should be lower again today. If we can hang in there a little longer we get back in the mid to upper 80s next week!

  11. LOVE the end quotes Carol, had me laughing.

It has been awful humid here too, and finished up my ATCs this afternoon....too hot to do anything else. I'll try to get yours in the mail tomorrow, after the air conditioner man comes to check out why the AC wants to give warm air from time to time. It couldn't be because it is 40 years old.....LOL

Those tomatoes look so yummy, mine did well until it started getting to 108'......now not so good. :( Only 105' today, with rain in the mountains....so humid!

I wish I had the space you have to grow more veggies....nothing like fresh from the garden to the plate!!

Sorry I'm so late in getting around for the T-day posts, been a crazy week.......and not just the temperatures....LOL
