"T" Stands for Tuesday

Hello my Tuesday Friends!
The sun is shining here and it's promising to be out all week :) Even though it's still a bit cooler than I really would like it, I'll still be outside soaking in the rays . Plus planting a whole bunch of those little jewels that have been waiting for spring .
This is my "Winter Sown" bed... looks a bit like a recycling bin  :)
But these closer shots show you that there really is life in those plastic jugs.
All in all I think I had about a 70% success rate with this project and some of the flops may have been due to old seeds. I mean really old seeds :(
I will definitely be doing more of this next year as it gives me so much more options for getting things started early . Space inside for that is an issue here.
The Blackeyed Susans and Echinacea that I started from seeds last summer have shot up this week and will be move to their permanent homes ....
....the herb bed is filling out and the plants I bought to fill in the "dead" spots will get planted too.
The Allium are about to pop open :) and the iris are almost ready too.
My one and only Bleeding Heart is blooming now and I've decided to get more planted this year. The leaves are so lacy and delicate and I love the way the little blossoms bloat in the breeze.

I've been picking and drying Dandelion flowers for a couple of weeks now. The dried flowers are soaking in olive oil and will become dandelion soap in a week or two. I may even make a batch this week as I have a jar of the oil left from last year that needs to get used up.
I seem to have an abundance of frogs of all kinds everywhere this year. The insect population should be low this year :)
My drink for the day is COFFEE!
Will need all of the energy I can get to plant everything that needs to go in the ground.
The art is another WIP I started yesterday while watching an art journaling video at
Dirty Footprints Studio.
A free "spreecast" focused on "painting the feminine"

The page is not finished yet and it will be another blog posting on my art blog .
The whole experience is about dealing with the loss of an internet friend and how our
E-relationship has affected my life.
Will probably get to that Thursday or Friday.
Today's Random Thoughts....

  1. Thx again for sharing the garden pix. They make me happy, and your dandelions should serve as a lesson to all those who try to kill them out as weeds. They're not only pretty but useful :) Happy T Day!

I have lost a few internet friends and although heartbreaking I am so very glad to have "known" them and have swapped art with them too. I'd like to hear more about your art and story. Happy T day!

  8. I am fascinated with the dandelion soap idea. I bet it is pretty too.

Your gardens are looking really great. I have 3 tomatoes coming, but just blossoms on the bell peppers for now.

    Happy T-day wishes

  9. I stopped by about noon and was just getting ready to read your post when I lost power. Got it back about 20 minutes ago. I adore the idea of making dandelion soap, but I have decided to also make a salve from chickweed. Seems I may need to buy more EVOO.

I am going to ask all my friends to save their milk cartons for me, because that is what kept me from trying your winter trick this year. I love the idea and the plants are ready and weather hardy regardless of what unpredictable weather thrown at me.

Thanks for sharing your dandelion ready soap, your gorgeous herb garden, your beautiful flowers, your winter sown garden, your WIP art, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday. Again, I apologize for being so late, but you can thank my energy provider for the snafu.
