T Stands for Tuesday

It's a BEAUTIFUL DAY!
The whole weekend through today has been unseasonably warm here :) WITH SUNSHINE!!!!!!
I've putzed  around outside piking up sticks and just enjoying the warmer weather and sunshine. Even opened the windows to air the place out a bit.
I even gathered some branches and berries from the cedar trees to use in a new soap recipe I want to try. Here they are all chopped up and simmering in olive oil in a slow cooker.

The house smells all woodsy right now :) I should be able yo make soap tomorrow :)

Since I've been doing more crochet work this month I decided to use some Sculpey clay and make my most used hook a bit more comfortable to work with. We'll see how it works out tonight .

We can't have a Tuesday post without a beverage and this week I'm sharing two.
The hot tea I'm drinking today...
a Cinnamon Apple Tea my daughter gave me for Christmas.....so good!

... and the ice tea I'm brewing for tomorrow.
Chocolate mint ... YUMMMM

I'll be pouring it into a 2 quart pitcher pretty soon and adding more water. That should keep me hydrated tomorrow.
So  thanks for stopping by and don't forget to visit the other folks at
T Stands for Tuesday.

  2. Handmade soap sounds lovely! I have looked through some of your other posts - I love your bird photos! One of my great joys is watching the birds from our caravan window(just to explain it is quite big static caravan - with radiators and a shower room - we visit it whenever we can!) The other day we watched about 15 Long tailed tits visit the feeders and we get a visit from a greater Spotted Woodpecker daily during the Winter months! Happy T day, Chris ps I've signed up as a follower

    1. Oh I do so love watching the birds too. Our deck is very busy with them in the winter as I put up several feeders . I just love to set at the table and watch them. Thanks for following ♥

  3. I SO want to come to your house and environment Carol :):) Such a clever idea to make your crochet hook more comfortable. My hubby would LOVE that chocolate mint tea-his favorite combo! Happy T day and, if you don't mind sharing-send me a bit of that warm sun too.

  5. OMGosh. I simply adore that cobalt blue tea pot. It is wonderful. And of course, I can't wait to grow more chocolate mint.

Where do you buy lye now that the meth cookers have made it illegal to sell? I've got everything for soap, but can't find lye anywhere in town.

Thanks for sharing these two wonderful drinks with us for T this Tuesday. Sorry I was late getting here.

    1. I 'm still able to buy lye at our local farm supply store and at Lowes Hardware. It's much more expensive at Lowes but sometime the farm store is out.

  10. You had good weather while we were gone! Carol you have given me an idea! I could bring in some bits of scrub cedar and boil them to make the house smell good. You think?

  11. Oh, Carol, your day sounds wonderful! I love infusing aromatic herbs in oil (or whatever!), though I usually do it at such a low temp that the volatile oils stays put. Even so, some fragrance escapes and it's delightful!

Enjoy the warm weather. Me ... I'll be shoveling throughout the day. The spouse has already started! :)

  12. I made soap for a few years and really enjoyed the process. I ran out of folks to give it to lol and couldn't use it as fast as I made it, so I gave up the project.

That tea pot is perfect! The shape and color both really appeal to me :)
