T Stands for Tuesday

Hello Tuesday Friends!!!!

Well I think I have finally crossed the threshold of
"FINALLY OVER THIS DANG THING!"
I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen any time soon. I still have the sniffles but I'm thinking that has more to do with allergies than anything else.
Unfortunately I do believe that Bob is coming down with it now ๐Ÿ˜’
It really has been a scary winter with illness here in the St. Louis area as well as the rest of the nation.
Last Wednesday I lost an acquaintance to the flu. She was a good friend of my best friend and we have interacted many times over the years. She refused to go to the doctor, even after running a temp of 104 ° for 3 days.
Tomorrow is the funeral.
So if you think you have the flu, get to the doctor right away!
Lent starts on Wednesday and this year I will be doing my
"Forty Bags In Forty Days Purge"
again.
I'll be going through the whole house and filling a plastic grocery bag with things that are no longer useful or just plain ole clutter.
Then I'll sort the bag by Donate or trash.
I really need to spend a large amount of time in my craft room.

The big circle in the closet is my DreamWheel which fell of the wall and hit me on the head as I worked on my computer. Perhaps my dreams were too big.... NA! I just didn't use enough thumb tacks ๐Ÿ˜‡
Bob is always telling me I have items for more projects than I'll ever have enough days to finish them in.
I think he is right :-/
My drink is setting on that messy desk in the green Yeti .. herbal tea again ♥

We had ice over the weekend which made everything a little dicey to walk on.

Pretty to look at but not safe or fun. Thankfully the sun came out today and most of it is gone and the rest of the week is to be very warm again. ๐Ÿ˜–
Today's Random Thoughts

Don't forget to head on over to
Elizabeth's and check out the other
T folks.

  1. Hi carol, I am never brave enough to go through and purge stuff and I agree with you-- this is a good time of year to do that-I know I need to do something with my so cluttered craft room. several years ago I did purge allot of items I knew I would never have time for.
so sorry for loss of your friend from the flu-so sad this is a bad one this year. we are both pretty much staying away from the public. I go to town once a month for groceries and that's it for now.
the ice was beautiful wasn't it ours is about half melted off now. Happy T Day Kathy

  2. What great quotes and sayings! I really love the pictures of the frost. So beautiful is God's creation! I love going through the house and de-cluttering. Isn't it amazing what we accumulate. I always think that one day I will use it but usually that day never comes ;). Good for you taking the step! How terrible that your friend passed away from the flu. I have heard of it happening but never in healthy individuals. :(
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  3. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. You are right, we have to take this flu seriously. We always get our flu shots, and so far, so good. The ice is pretty, but treacherous for sure. I always enjoy your random thoughts at the end. Thank you for sharing. Happy T Day!

  4. Glad you are over our cold, but sorry that your friend died, that is hard. Flu can really be a killer. The ice looks pretty, but I'm always scared of slipping in conditions like that. I love the idea of decluttering each day, I might just do something like that. Happy T Day! Hugs, Valerie

  5. What a hard work (for me) going through the whole house and filling a plastic grocery bag with things that are no longer useful!
I like your beautiful ice photos!
    Happy T Day! Rike

  6. Sorry to read that you had lost a good friend, I quite agree that flu needs to be taken seriously as well.
Good to read that you are feeling much better now, take care walking in the ice and snow, even though it does look so pretty in the photos.
Its a super de-clutter idea, one I might copy, but on a daily basis for me, may be a step to far.
    Happy T day wishes.

  7. I think the purge deal sounds great. I need to do some purging. I was wondering if you had ice, we did too. It was scary. We stayed home and finally went out yesterday for errands. So very sad about your friend, the whole flu thing is frightening this year. Glad you are better. Just wanted to mention that I am going to take a blogging break for a bit. We have some busy stuff going on in our life right now and I can't get around to comment and will be without internet for awhile. So I haven't dropped off the face of the earth! Just have a lot to do... :) I will try to drop in here when I can, I will miss you!

  8. Wonderful post and I'm glad you are feeling better! Sorry to hear about your friend's friend, so sad. Your 40 bags in 40 days purge sounds like a great way to declutter the house and I know what you mean about having too much craft stuff for projects and not enough days ...lol ๐Ÿ˜‰. Lovely frost photos and your thoughts for the day made me smile, especially the last two ...lol ๐Ÿ˜€. Wishing you a Happy T Day! J ๐Ÿ˜Š
p.s. thanks for your lovely comments on my blog recently! J x

  9. Even though she was just an acquaintance,it's still hard to hear. Blessings to her family and loved ones.

Today I posted about "Organizing for Others", but the ideas apply to folks doing it for themselves as well. The main thing is to keep your intention for the space in mind. How you want to feel in it, what you hope to accomplish. Then take the necessary steps to make it happen! Just think of how many people will be able to use your discards. It's a win-win!

Best wishes on your purging project!

  10. Sorry for the loss of a friend. The flu is much more dangerous than many think. Glad you are finally feeling better. Even the colds are lasting so long this season...
good for you to do the 40 bags 40 days purge! I continue to purge but not to that extent;) I agree with you about the ice too-pretty to look at but dangerous to walk on. Have a great weekeand happy T day!

  11. I apologize. I would have been by sooner, but I ate something about midnight that didn't set well and I got very ill right as I was about to leave you a comment.

So sad to read about your acquaintance, That is really sad. They now have a test they can give to people at the hospital to see if they have the flu, or a cold, or even pneumonia. It is good to read you are feeling better, at least. Now it's time to feel 100%!

That ice looks brutal. I wouldn't want to walk and slip on it.

LOVED your random thoughts today, especially the note to Mother Nature.

I might be tempted to purge, too, but I won't be able to do it for 40 days. Too many other things are pressing and in need of my attention. I hope you keep a lot of before and after photos.

Thanks, too for sharing your Yeti and herbal tea with us for T this Tuesday.

  12. beautiful ice photos...even if it is a bit dicey to walk on! 40 bags in 40 days? sounds like something I should try! glad you're better-hope your hubby gets well soon. Happy T day!

  13. Carol, it's clear you're feeling better because this was a very funny post - except for the death of the friend of a friend. I'm so sorry to hear that.

The flu this year is really scary. I've read people have died because they couldn't afford the Tamiflu their doctor prescribed. That's just not right.

Your "Forty Bags In Forty Days Purge" for Lent would be a real challenge for me. I, too, have more supplies than I'll use in my lifetime. Maybe you should toss that dream wheel before it bonks you again!

    Happy T-day! Eileen

  14. Glad to hear you are feeling better, but sorry to hear about your friend! Love those photos! I have already started to prepare some bags with items from my craft room - don't think I'll manage 40 though!Happy T Day! Chrisx

  15. I am so sorry about your friend. As soon as you go through your craft items and get rid of them is when you will be in the middle of a project and say, "Why did I through that out?" These are some great photos of ice. We have turned cold here 29 and 30 degrees in the morning. That is not right for my part of the country. LOL

  16. Glad to hear you are finally over the hump. It has been a terrible winter for diseases and I'm sorry to hear about your acquaintance. It is scary. And I would say that about your craft space but I can't because mine looks just as bad. I need a good clean up too, maybe when I am on vacation in a couple of weeks. Hope your hubby doesn't get sick and happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  17. Well done you for de-cluttering. Fortunately I haven't got much clutter. I had to leave it all behind when we moved country. We started here with the bare minimum.
I was sorry to hear about your friend. This flu is a killer. Mine turned into pneumonia, but I am better now (like you).
I loved your photos of the emerging plant life from under the snow. And I enjoyed your random thought. Especially the one about mother nature.
    Happy Valentine's Day and a
    Belated happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  18. Happy late T Tuesday :) I'm glad you're better but hope your husband doesn't get this. And yes, the flu is more dangerous than people realize. We have a friend who was trying to get his doctor to release him for work, and the doctor said, "People your age are dying of this flu." He went back to bed. I'm so sorry about your friend :( It's just so hard to recognize the danger.

I like your 40 day purge idea. I've been trying to do that gradually over time, but a Lenten focus would help. The ice is beautiful, isn't it, but no fun at all if you have to go out. Your "everything in life is temporary" quote strikes me. Thx!
