T Stands for Tuesday

Hello my Tuesday Friends!
I've been down with a SUPER COLD for 2 weeks now...
... I can't remember the last time a cold made me this sick. Luckily it wasn't the flu as I hear it is much worse.
So nothing much besides sleeping and coughing going on with lots of nose blowing.
I was able to read a couple of books but that's it.
Yesterday was my first day feeling semi-normal . So I got up and swept  and vacuumed the floors. I was pretty much wiped out after that.
Today I feel even better so I filled some of the containers for "winter sowing seeds" and planted a few seeds then took the containers outside.

I'm about 3 weeks late starting this but that's ok ... I'll get more planted this weekend.
Today I mostly planted different types of milkweed, some yucca seeds and Shasta Daisies. All seeds that have to have cold before they will grow. I'll do other types of flowers next and some cold hardy veggies.

I did also get my Valentine Doll hung on the front door.
I just wired her to the Christmas wreath I made this year.
I may or may not add some more hearts. :)
And here are some photos of the Dandelion Soap after I sliced it... it came out a nice yellow after all.

It has a nice citrus-mint smell that I like too.
So that's it for today...
tomorrow I have to tackle all the laundry that has piled up the last 2 weeks. :(

  1. Hi Carol-so glad you are beginning to feel better. I am amazed you got seeds planted-that's awesome I need to decide what I want to do this year for veggies and flowers-I am thinking we are do for a hot summer since we had a very cold winter so far.
    Love your wreath

  3. Golly, dear. You have really been missed. I simply adore the glass you used for your Emergen C. It looks like you are celebrating Mardi Gras in NOLA. I wish you felt better, but it looks like you are on the road to recovery with your plantings. I need to make a cold frame and start some plants like that, too.

Your wreath turned out great. What a super way to recycle your Christmas wreath.

That soap turned out great. It even cut well, too. Looks like you didn't let it sit too long before you cut it, because it didn't even flake. AWESOMELY AWESOME!!

Thanks for sharing your orange immune building drink and your wreath, your seeds, and your soap with us for T this Tuesday. Please feel better soon.

  6. Good Morning, Carol! Glad you are feeling a bit better. I had that on vacation... ick. Nose running like a faucet, lost my voice for a week, then the coughing started. CH got it after we got home. I sympathize with you! Your Valentine Doll wreath is very cute... ♥
Your Dandelion Soap turned out beautiful, bet it smells great. Your quotes are very interesting... I am drawn to the one about "everything in life is temporary"... that is a good thought for me today. They would make good Sparks! Cold here again this morning and I haven't even looked out to see if we have snow or ice! Take care of that cold and rest! Hugs.

  13. Man, that sounds like a nasty cold. Glad you are getting back up on your feet. And I am so jealous you are out doing a bit of planting. We have a foot of snow coming tomorrow-no planting for probably 2-3 months for me. This is the time of year it makes me sad there's still another couple months of winter left. So I will live my garden yearnings through your post. Soap is looking good. Hope it was a good T day. hugs-Erika

  14. Sorry to be so late, Carol, ... busy week. Sorry to hear you've been sick but glad you're over the worst of it. Boy, you really do know your gardening don't you? Back in NJ, the ground would be too hard frozen to plant anything yet. The rule of thumb was to plant your peas after St. Patrick's Day.

I love the artisanal look of your soap.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
