T Stands for Tuesday

Hello again my Tuesday FRIENDS!
Sorry I was absent again last week... I was dealing with a death in the family. One that was tragic and left us all shaken to the core.
It just seems we can't get a break this year from illness and trauma.
On the brighter side of life... Dad is doing great and has been dismissed from all of his visiting nurse and physical therapy.
Tonight I'm drinking a hot herbal tea for sore throats. I can't decide if it's just sinus drainage or if I'm really coming down with something but the tea feels great. I added some ginger, honey and cayenne pepper to it for a bit of heat.
I'm still picking tomatoes in the garden , a pepper here and there and that's about it. There are still 2 watermelons out there but I doubt they will have time to get ripe before the first frost hits. I'm ready to put it all to bed for the winter.
I did muster up enough energy today to plant the garlic for next summer. Didn't plant anywhere near the amount that I usually do. But we haven't been using it all so I decided to cut back. Now watch me rum out and have to buy some next year LOL!
Today's Random Thoughts

AND JUST A PRETTY PICTURE

Hoping to be back to normal next week ..
in the meantime  hop on over and visit the other folks at

  2. Death takes its toll, and it manifests itself in very strange ways, including illness. I truly hope you feel better soon.

It was good to read your father is doing better. That is very, very good news. One less thing for you to have to worry about.

I'm still getting herbs out of the garden, but I've quit cutting, hoping I can bring some plants in before the first frost.

Your tea sounds good, but I'm not much for cayenne pepper. Thanks for sharing your tea, your random thoughts, and your garden update with us for T this Tuesday. Fee, better soon, dear Carol.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. I can deal with illness and it's toll on the human race but I can never understand or deal with random acts of violence especially against elderly people who can't protect themselves. It make my blood boil!!!

  3. My condolences for the death in your family. I bet you are ready for 2018. My 215 was like that and man, it is hard. But glad your dad is doing well. And you still have tomatoes? Not me. My plants are all brown and looking pretty sad. Glad you are back. Happy T Day-Erika

  8. My sympathies for your loss. I'm sorry your family has suffered like this. I'm pleased that your Dad is doing so well.

I didn't plant any veggies this year. I don't really have enough sun for them...

    Happy T Tuesday

  9. Carol my heart goes out to you.... i will keep you in my thoughts..
Good to hear about your Dad.... but sad that you are not well... My daughter when she was young was always having to go to the doctor with a bronchitis type of thing... Dr.. said it started with drainage down the back of her throat.... He reccommended Mucinex ... said it would stop the drainage and hence the bronchitis and if i caught it early enough i wouldn't end up bringing her to him...lol Just a thought.. Hugs! deb

  17. Carol, I am so sorry for your loss. We've had the same type of year and I know how dreadful it is. I am glad to hear your father is doing better! I hope you're feeling better, too. It is easy to get run down when dealing with stress and grief. I love the sayings, very true. Sending hugs.
