T Stands for Tuesday & September Stay-cation

Hello my Tuesday FRIENDS!
It's a fantastic week here!! Hubs and I started a stay-cation on Saturday and the weather has been fantastic!!!
On Saturday we bought a truck!!! A great truck... from the youngest son who bought an even better one.
Ours is a 2010 GMC DENALI  that has all the extras you would would ever want and probably not need. I'm most excited about the heated seats and steering wheel--- as a plus the seats are also air conditioned :)

It was a busy weekend for the Monarch eggs and caterpillars too :)

Three eggs hatched and one caterpillar made a Chrysalis

On Sunday we took the youngest daughter  and went hiking at Graham Cave State Park.

The weather was absolutely perfect and it was a beautiful park I'll share more pictures later :)
On Monday the 3 of us decided to go to one of the big cave tours in Missouri. This one was only an hour and a half from the house and it was amazing.

Again these are just a few of the photos ... I'll share many more some other day :)
Here's the Hubs at one of breakfast outings over the weekend... of course it's coffee in his  cup :) and I'm drinking ice water with lemon.

Since I've already shared so many photos  I'll just leave you with one thought for the day.

  3. This was a great week for you. Loved the new truck, and the various places you took us. These areas looked so familiar to the Ark/Mo border. I remember rafting in areas that looked like that when I lived in MO.

I have a friend who owns a cave near Branson, MO. The Univ of MO (at the time I went) had mapped about a 1/4 of it. We had a party on her property one weekend and two of the guys and I explored the cave. It was fantastic because there were no lights (other than the ones we brought with us), so the going was sometimes tight to get through, and sometimes opened into large cavernous rooms. We spent about six hours and I loved every minute of it. Of course, I was young then (in my early 20s) and quite agile. I saw many of the things you saw, including stalagmites and stalactites. And there was water all through this cave, too. I'm so glad you shared your experience.

Thanks for sharing breakfast with water and coffee, along with your stay-cation with us for T this Tuesday. You brought back SO many memories, all good!

  4. What a fantastic post! I'm so glad to hear that you have had a good week :-). Oh my, I would love to have a double cab pick up truck and with all those extras I'd be in it all the time ... lol :-). Looks like you had a great time with your family - the park you visited is amazing and those caves are spectacular! And that breakfast I could eat everyday, I love american pancakes and maple syrup - delicious! The thought for the day is so true and I will now always remember to straighten my crown. Wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)

  8. Looks like you are having a fantastic staycation. Sometimes those are the best because you don't need to pack or wait in airport lines. That cave looks pretty amazing. Had you been there before? Sometimes it is amazing what we can find so close to home if we stop long enough to look. Happy belated T day. Hugs-Erika

  12. Didn't want to miss out from when I was unplugged for a bit.
That truck is so well kept it looks brand new.
Heated seats are wonderful for aching backs and lucky you with air cooled seats too!
Your cave photos really are splendid.
It is neat how constant the temperatures are under ground like that. Beautiful!
    Staycations are a super idea.
It is easy to take our surroundings a bit for granted and there is always something to see and enjoy.
