Hello my Tuesday Friends :)
It was a busy week as our stay-cation continued and we did a lot of fun things and then some work around the house.
Mid-week was exciting as the first Monarch hatched from it's chrysalis :)
On Wednesday the shell was becoming transparent....
Thursday morning it was totally transparent and by late morning we had a butterfly!
Then a few hours later it was time to let him go.... you can tell it's a male bu the two dots on the lower wing lines. The females do not have the dots.
I have a couple of cool videos but I can't figure out how to get them on here with the new phone : ( I'll have to work on that for later :)
I have two more Chrysalis that should be ready in a few days.
This year was a total learning experience with trying to save eggs and then grow the caterpillars. There are a few things I will do differently next year.
I promised some more cave photos from last weeks day trip. These were all taken in a section of the cave called "The Lily Pad Cavern"
The cave is HUGE and the walking tour takes a little over and hour and only shows part of the cave.
Thanks for joining me this week and don't forget visit the others at
OH... and here's the required drink photo... the coffee cup from last weeks breakfast outing....
♥
