T Stands for Tuesday

Greetings my Tuesday Friends!
Another fast and busy week here and still searching for that lost energy :(
I am feeling a bit more energized but not up to normal yet. Or is this my new normal?
I HOPE NOT!!!!
Coffee is still the drink of the day :)
If you don't follow my art blog the background art is last weeks project from
"CHILDREN OF THE WILD" classes.
The piece on the right is the start of another project that may or may not include some of the elements from that class too.
Here is the other new joy in my life if you don't visit my other blog. "Minnie Me" came to live with me last Tuesday afternoon :) A gift from my Hubby.
She's a bundle of energy and love and everyone in the family is in love with her ♥
Well maybe not the cats but her big brother dog is thrilled with her.
He now has a playmate again and brother do they PLAY! All day long with little naps here and there.
She's only 6 months old so there is still a bit of training going on. She is pretty well potty trained but doesn't bark when she has to go... she just stares at you. So we are getting a bit of training ourselves. When she does have an accident in the house the other dog tells on her right away.
We are down to one caterpillar now :( I figure out too late that the one caterpillar was killing the others :(

The one survivor appears to be thriving well. This is day 10 since hatching. He's one inch long now at hatching he wasn't even 1/16th of an inch long so that's a huge growth in 10 days.
Here are some photos I took a couple of weeks ago. It was after a rain and early in the morning...

The wooded areas were full of these giant mushrooms measuring 8 inches across . They didn't last long, only a day or so before the heat baked them to a shriveled mess.
In another area of the yard we had these leather looking one....

These last a bit longer before turning in a black slimy goo :( That the husband wasn't too fond of at all when he accidentally stepped on one. He thinks maybe we should pick them and throw them away before they get to the slimy stage next year. Every year there seems to be more of them too.
So that's whats happening in my world this week.

  2. wonderful children of the wild art Carol! Sorry to hear you're still not 100%. Looks like Minnie Me is fully adjusted and how sweet that she and her big brother get along so well. Did not know caterpillars eat each other :(
Great photos of the fungi. I know my hubby picks and discards the ones he sees in our yard for the same reason.
Thanks for the random thoughts too, and happy T day!

  3. Gosh, I just leave my caterpillars on the dill. You go to a lot of trouble to make these butterflies come to life. I hope the final one makes it.

Ahh, your new puppy is adorable. So glad you have your very own Mini Me.

Wish you were feeling really normal. I know how you feel right now. Normal may come some day, at least.

Thanks for sharing your coffee and art with us, as well as your caterpillar and fungi for T this Tuesday.

  8. Oh my, Minnie Me is too cute - what a lovely and thoughtful present from your hubby! The photo of her made me smile beacuse her toy looks bigger than she is and she looks as though she's having so much fun :-). I love your random thoughts and their artwork, it's as if they match and were meant to be together, very beautiful images! Wishing you more energy and happiness! J :-)

  9. Perhaps you could borrow a little energy from Minnie Me. Adorable pup and cute name. The mushrooms are interesting but I can understand not wanting the mess.

    Have a great week.

  12. Did I read correctly that you have three blogs?
WOW! I had a second blog for awhile but it got to be too much for me...I feel challenged keeping up with just one.
What a sweet new friend you have there. Him training you and your other doggie telling on him made me smile.
Wonderful piece of art you have there (wondering if that is the Kate Thompson class?).
Survival of the fittest with the butterflies and here I thought they were vegetarians.
Very cool shrooms you have growing. The one that turns to mush sure is BIG.
Take care of yourself and rest when you can.
Happy day after T Day dear Carol oxo

  13. What a shame about the caterpillars. I don't get monarchs, but the caterpillars I do get I leave outside. Only 3 survived the last hatching (at least as far as I could see). It's hard for me to know if it'd be better to bring them in.

Great mushrooms! I think they are striking when I see them in the lawn.

  16. There is allot of different mushrooms here-allot I can't find in books or be sure of-I have always wanted to try natural dyeing with them but don't think a good idea to use poisonous ones.
your two dogs do seem to be having lots of fun together-a good thing-and funny that one tells on the puppy-which is actually a good thing.
Hope you will be getting this cool down too suppose to come in tonight and last through sunday before the heat returns on monday-that really sounds nice
