T Stands for Tuesday

Hello again my Tuesday friends!
Sorry I've been missing in action lately....just a lot going on here with the remodeling and all. The work is finally done  but I still don't have it all put make together again. I've been fighting off a cold it seems and not winning the battle. The joys of weather changes :(
Here are a couple of pictures of the new flooring we just had put in.

We just did the main living area this time will do the bedrooms next year hopefully.
I've finally started doing a bit of decorating in the bathroom ...

I bought a new shower curtain and used some plants from other parts of the house.

I haven't found a curtain I like for the window yet so I have a towel hanging there now. Makes it too dark in the room. I'll probably end up making a curtain that goes with the shower curtain.
There is nothing on the walls yet either but I have an idea of where that is going. I just haven't had the energy to work on it with the rest of the house tore up .
I finally harvested the sweet potatoes in my garden ...

This is what grew in the straw bale... and this is what grew in the ground...
The straw bale is the winner by a long shot and so easy to harvest. I sat on upside down empty bucket and just pull the bale apart..extremely easily and then picked up the potatoes. No digging almost no effort :)
I did manage to finish all of the faces for 29 faces in September but I didn't blog them all. I did get them post on the facebook page which is private so I guess I'll have to muster up some more energy somewhere and do a post on the ones I didn't get onto the art blog.  Here's the last one I did .. along with my herbal drink of the day
This was done from a photo of my 2 granddaughters playing dress up in old fashioned dresses..
Today's Random Thoughts

  1. Wow Carol, what a wonderful and uplifting post. The new floors turned out GREAT. They are wonderful, and the bath has turned into a beauty. I love the plants, something I used to have in every room of my house, but they don't seem to live in my house anymore.

Your faces are beautiful, and your grand daughters look like they could have lived in that era. Wonderful photos and great art.

Thanks for sharing both your herbal drink AND your week with us for T this week.

  2. Love seeing your remodel Carol , since that is what we are going thru too...Well i wish we were doing the pretty remodel and not sheetrocking walls...uuughh... Your sweet potatoes did really well!!! I tried making them at home once and just didn't like them but i do like them when we eat out like at Logans.... yum! I guess i just don't make them right. How do you cook them? Happy happy Tday! Hugs! deb

  7. The house is looking good. Putting it all back together must be hard but also fun. Will have to try the bale method for potatoes sometime, we did have a few in the ground this year though.

  8. I don't know what I am the most envious about, the new floors ( which are gorgeous) or the harvest of sweet potatoes.......oh ymmmmmm!

  13. Hello and Happy T Day! What gorgeous new floors you have!! I hope to get new floors one day, hope mine will be as nice as yours. Sounds like you have been busy, all good stuff though, YAY! How wonderful your faces are, great job doing it the whole month. I did that a couple years ago and liked it.

  14. Your sweet potatoes look great! We're hoping to get ours up this week and I hope they look as good as yours. I'm impressed with the results of the straw bale method. I have friends who garden in straw bales on a paved lot in the city. Amazing. I need to give it a try!
