"T" Stands for Tuesday

It's Tuesday and the Sun is SHINING!!!
Finally :)
It's been a wet week here ...but we definitely needed the rain so I've just embraced it and played inside most days.
Today the sun is shining but it's only 56° out there and a bit too nippy for me to work out there. I'm sure that later this afternoon will be a different story.
We have new garden residents too :(
I guess the Momma had not chosen a good spot to nest and after a couple of days of rain she moved next to one of the straw bales in the garden. There are 8 of these cute little guys all cuddled up in the new nest...
I'm hoping that my constant presence in the garden will have mom moving them again real soon... before they start leaving the nest and munching on my young veggies :(

They are just so darn cute though :) and FYI ...baby rabbits can swim... One jumped out of my hands and landing in a 5 gallon bucket of water and swam his little heart out looking for a way out. Of course I rescued him....even if I'll be calling him all sorts of names if he doesn't move out soon.

The Iris are really putting on a show....at least those that didn't get knocked down by the rains. Those are in a vase in my kitchen right now :)
The tomatoes are loving their straw bale homes and have more than double in size in the week they have been planted .
... and the butterfly garden is waking up and growing tall. I have counted 43 milkweed plants this year so far. Some of these will get transplanted to a new flowerbed that will be dedicated to butterflies too. Can't wait to see how many Monarchs we get this year!

I have lots of things that need to go into the ground soon..but I'll be taking it easy this week as I'm traveling to Tennessee on Friday for my oldest Grandson's High School Graduation :) Don't want to wear myself out or risk flaring up the back issues.
This is him on prom night.
It will be a fun weekend with both of my kids there and all of my Grands :)
My drink for the week is coffee again! In my new giant cup I received for
Mother's Day..

Random Thought's for this week...

  1. The rabbits are sweet, but they always ate my flowers down to within an inch of the ground. I agree with your coffee-from-the-dark-side sentiment ;)

I love hearing about and seeing your garden. I'll look forward to photos of monarchs!

Have fun in Tennessee :) Congrats to your grandson!

  2. Have a wonderful trip to Tennessee (that is such a fun state to type) and hope all those little bunnies pack up and leave your garden before decimating all your beautiful flowers!! Happy T day to you with your lovely giant sized coffee mug! Annette

  3. The rabbit kittens are soooo cute! But - they don't belong in a persons garden, lol. I hope, for you too, they move out soon. Safe journeys and Happy T Day :o))

  4. What a fun post. I've never had rabbits eat my plants, but I've had birds eat my tomatoes to the ground. Seems a baby rabbit lives in my back yard some days, too. He or she must hide when the possum goes by.

Love the looks of your garden. I'm VERY impressed with it, and the irises, too. Mine are all gone. No chance of flower pounding them this year, because I was sick while they were blooming and beyond. Yours are truly lovely, because all I have are purple ones I brought from my home in Missouri.

That's a lovely new mug. Does it make your coffee taste better (grin)? And your art is lovely too.

Had to laugh at the death star and coffee reference. Too funny.

Thanks for sharing your flowers, tomatoes, and coffee with us for T this Tuesday. Have fun this weekend with your grandson. One milestone down in his life, with many more to go, I'm sure.

  5. oh those baby bunnies are adorable!! I'm worried cuz we have two VERY playful rabbits hanging in our yard-and my dog is a hunting breed. She once found a nest and killed the young ones by shaking them and breaking their necks. Of course I had to take care of it all but cried all the while. You are so good at keeping such a great garden! Love your new mug. And congrats on g son's HS graduation! The coffee quote is fab too!
