More Dahlias

Three years ago I didn't have a single dahlia. Then I bought one at a yard sale and now I have more than I care to count because then I'd worry about how I'm going to get them all dug up and stored for winter and replanted next spring. And that might stop me from buying another beautiful specimen when I run across them.
Several of my dahlias didn't bloom well this year due to the wacky weather....but they are forming some new buds so maybe I"ll get a few more great blooms before the season is over

  5. Dahlias are always beautiful and they are easy to care for, however when we lost them i haven't seen some near us to plant again. Your photos are lovely too. BTW, i also like your house and landscape on the header. Living in the vicinity can elicit artistic pursuits, i bet there are also lots of butterflies there. Thanks for visiting my site.

  7. You have such an amazing green thumb. Even the guys at the farmer's vegetable stand laughed at me this summer, when I admitted to them that I can't get arugula to grow in my garden, or in my pots. "Ma'am," they said. "Arugula is a weed. Anybody can grow it!"

  10. I missed a few posts cause we have been running all over MissouREE for family stuff! I love the shots of your dahlias, we had the same thing happen with hibiscus. We had one pop up out of nowhere, now we have five and CH built an arbor for them all to lean against :) They are blooming again now, I think it is that wacky weather you mentioned!

  11. Your dahlias are beautiful, I love all the different colors. I only had a couple this year and they did not do as well as they did last summer. Great photos and nice capture on the butterfly.

  13. Beautiful flowers. Wish it were not so hot and dry here - I would love to try to grow them otherwise.
