Macro Flowers Saturday July 31

Macro Flowers Saturday badge 1

TOUCH-ME-NOT
These little wildflowers are all over our wooded area. They are very dainty and just the slightest of breezes sending them bouncing all over the place. I've trying to get a good shot for several days and just couldn't because of the wind. Today was my lucky day.

  1. I used to pull out these as weeds until I saw a hummingbird visiting them. I think it is some sort of wild Impatiens flower.

  2. Yes the Hummers love them! I looked them up on the Missouri Conservation site and they called them "Touch-Me-Nots" they probably gave a more botanical name too but that didn't stick with me.

  4. Small, delicate flowers (even the not so delicate) can be a challeng to photograph when the wind is blowing. Nice shots.

  7. I was blog hopping and found your blog! I had to stop and say this is Jewelweed! Its great to have for Poison ivy.. If you come in contact with poison ivy then you break off a leaf of jewelweed and rub it on the spot. 9 times out of 10 poison ivy wont make a rash. I had a friend send me some this year to plant. It likes cool shady places to live..It also helps mosquito bites... Enjoying looking around your blog!
