T Stands for Tuesday

Hello my Tuesday Friends!
Moving slow around here... recouping from a week of too much good stuff.
Lots of good food and visits with family:)
These are my parents. They are 85 and 83 :) and still host the family holiday meals and wouldn't have it any other way. This is the only decent picture I have for the weekend and my husband took it. Every time I tried it was either very blurry or they held something in front of their face. I gave up and enjoyed the event.
We drove home through too much rain and just barley made it before the roads were closed.

Not the best photos but it was pouring down rain and we were moving ...slowly . The other lane was totally flooded with one car floating around in it. The water was very close to the top of the concrete barrier when we went through and shortly after was flowing over and they closed that lane too. It would have taken us hours to go around another direction so we were lucky!
So tomorrow I have to go back to work. After having 5 days off it's always hard. But I'm looking forward to checking out all of the seeds that came in last week :)

Kind of felt strange to seeing seeds going up next to the Christmas decorations. This is the earliest we have gotten them in. Usually don't show up until February.
That's it for this week ..the brain is still slowed down by all of that sugar .
Random Thoughts for the Day

...and don't forget to...
.....oops forgot the drink..

comes to mind with your cool mug Carol (nice paper underneath too!) :-)
That is a lovely photo of you and your parents.
Sounds like you had a harrowing drive home...scary stuff.
Stay safe and don't work too hard.
Thanks for sharing the words of wisdom too...I always enjoy your selections.
Here's to a new year full of friendship and inspiration.
    Happy T Day oxo

  2. I simply ADORE your afterthought! That's a beautiful mug.

Although I enlarged the photos, I couldn't tell where you were. Here in Kansas, they closed highways due to blowing snow, white outs, electrical outages, and icy bridges and overpasses. It is horrible here. I walked outside about 10 minutes ago to check my mail (since I had forgotten to look earlier in the day) and nearly slipped on my icy porch. I had trouble getting the mail box open because it was iced shut. Seems lots of people are without electricity tonight, too. Not sure what I'd do if I lost mine. I'm so glad you made it home safe and sound. It seemed we were both caught in a slow moving loop, where you were on the rain side of the loop and I was on the ice and snow side.

Have fun going back to work tomorrow. It was lovely to see your parents, and read that you had a good time with them.

Thanks for sharing your Christmas and your drink with us for T this week. Have an enjoyable and safe New Year's Eve and Day. Here's to an artful 2016.

  8. Throw kindness around like confetti! LOVE that!!!
Great photo. Your parents are younger than mine. Mom's 86 and dad would have been 88. I'm 43. They were a little older than average first time parents. ;)
Happy T day and Happy New Year!

  11. How could you forget your lovely lizard mug! I like it.
What awful weather! I'm in Holland at the moment where the weather is unusually mild. There are floods in many places in the world at the moment and I feel for the people who's houses are flooded, and cattle have died and fields are unusable etc
But your choice of 'thoughts'is very good and very positive.
Happy Tday and a happy 2016
