T Stands for Tuesday

Hello there! thought we's visit the garden blog this week since it's being neglected now that the growing season is over. :(
Yesterday the temps were in the 60's again so I finished up  a few forgotten chores ..
I brought in the Rosemary and but it in the basement... I try every year to winter it over upstairs and it dies so this year we are trying the unheated basement.
We'll keep our fingers crossed.
The aloe vera is in the basement too and it's blooming already. It really likes the chill it gets down there I guess.

It never blooms if I bring it upstairs.
I dug up the Dahlia's I always wait until we've had a hard freeze to kill off the above ground growth.. I don't think it's ever been this late before I dug them up . They are in there winter bucket with peatmoss . Drying out a bit before I cover them with more.
The tubers are usually twice this size when I dig them up but it has been a strange weather year :(
I finally have most of the garden covered in cardboard and black plastic.
The perennial beds aren't covered... I'm just mulching them heavily and I left a row of Holy Basil to go to seed for the birds and I'll also be able to transplant the new plants that come up in the spring.
My drink for the day is of course coffee again...
....along with some of the mini journals I've been making by  adding collage work to the covers of mini composition notebooks. Here's the back side of them ...

These are fun and easy and make great little stocking stuffers or small gifts.
Today's Random Thoughts...

  1. I've never seen aloe vera bloom! My rosemary is still outside waiting for me to decide whether or not I'll try to over-winter it this year. I always enjoy seeing your garden. :) Happy T Tuesday.

  4. I've owned aloe vera for about 100 years (OK, that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean) and mine has NEVER bloomed. My rosemary has a tendency to die, too. Last year was the first year it overwintered in my house. I try to spritz it ever so often, because they tend to dry out.

I like that you left the basil to go to seed. It's like an added crop in the spring.

I love those mini comp book covers. They are beautiful. And they go nicely with your coffee, too.

BTW, when DOES old enough kick in?

Thanks for sharing your words of wisdom, your lovely plants, your beautiful comp books, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday.

  9. My ferns finally gave out and they are so messy to try and hold over that they will get dumped in the back woods.
    Good Morning, Carol!

  13. Your garden is amazing! I try but I do not have a green thumb at all. Besides getting some milkweed for the butterflies, I don't think I'm going to buy any other new plants this year, I'll have to appreciate them in the gardens of others...
