T Stands for Tuesday

Good Morning my Tuesday Friends
I'm running late today... which seems to be a common occurrence for me these days :(
Right now the sun is shining and the temps are pleasant so I'll be heading outside to finish cleaning up the fish pond area.
It was totally overgrown this year... the late and wet Spring and early Summer just kept getting in my way and I finally threw up my hands and forgot about it. Until Sunday when I just couldn't stand seeing it that way any longer. :(
I didn't think to take a before picture but here is the mess it is now.

I've pulled out two wagons full of weeds so far and only have one side near finished... It's going to be a week long process I do believe other wise I'll mess up my back again for sure. The butterflies are hanging out and enjoying the mess though...

I've moved mot of the potted plants off to the side so I don't injure them or myself by tripping over them :)
Some are just too big to move out of the way..

I still can't find the pump and filter that is buried somewhere in the basement . On a shelf behind all of the youngest child's furniture and moving boxes I'm sure. So it will be hard to control the algae in the water but I did find the bubblier which will help.
I'm finally starting to see Monarch Butterflies on my milkweed plants :) I haven't gotten a picture yet but I've been seeing them for several days now. Hopefully I'll soon have caterpillars .
My drink of choice today is coffee... and my current work in progress painting that is almost finished.
I still have to do the detailing on the feathers.
Last week I spent the day with my daughter and grandson and we went to the History Museum and whirlwind trip through part of the zoo. I haven't been to the zoo in over 30 years.

Most of the animals where hiding in the deep shade to stay out of the heat.. I'm planning another trip later when it's cooler and the kids are all back in school so I don't have to fight the crowds so much :)
The Butterfly House was awesome..
This one landed on my daughters leg and stayed there a while .
I didn't get an pictures at the Museum as they had signs not to take photographs and my the grandson is a rigid rule follower and gave us a lecture on putting our phones away  :)
Just one photo of the bathroom to show that the mirror is finally up :)
It's higher than I like and will probably have them move it down a bit. They already think I'm too picky but hey it's my bathroom and they're being paid to make it the way I want it. I'll try to get a better pic so you can see the details on the mirror. The good camera is charging right now. So that will be next week.
So that's it for this week and now I'm off to check out the other folks and what they have to say this week :)

  1. Your header picture of your house always makes me want to come and visit....I would even help you pull weeds....LOL Although I wouldn't get much done with all the beautiful butterflies to photograph!

Looking forward to seeing your finished painting.
    Happy T-day

  2. That looks like alot of hard work... Do you use weedcloth??? Its a Godsend with keeping weeds under control...Its not perfect but helps alot! Love that painting. Would love a closer view of it. Its probably been a good 4-5 years since i've been to a zoo... time to go back... So glad to see this T day! Hugs! deb

  3. Goodness, Carol. In the heat we've been having, I can't imagine working this long every day. I know it must be a BIG job cleaning that pond, so I don't envy you in the least.

Loved the photos of the zoo, and look forward to more. I was surprised how many animals were out when Sally and I went, but we supposedly have a first rate zoo. Going in the evening helped, too, since the sun was declining. I really enjoyed the photo of the butterfly on your daughter's leg.

That is a lovely painting, and I look forward to seeing it completed. Thanks for sharing it, your pond photos, your day at the zoo (and museum) and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday.

  4. Hi Sweetie, you have been busy again! Love the photos of your pond area, it looks really magic to me. Glad you enjoyed your zoo visit, that huge butterfly is fantastic. Your new painting is coming along well. Take care of yourself, happy T day, hugs, Valerie

  5. I've always thought a fish pond would be nice, and I love your pictures of the area. And monarchs! I haven't seen one in ages, though we do get viceroys and swallowtails. Time at the zoo and the museum sounds like a nice break. :)

  6. The pond is a lot of work. Looks beautiful, though, even if you aren't done.
I hope you get a chance to go back to the zoo when it cools off and you can take your time. And hey--it is your bathroom and you should have it just the way you want it. ;)
    Happy T-Day! :)

  7. Your trip to the zoo looks great. That butterfly resting on your daughters leg is an awesome click.
    Happy T day

  8. We made a zoo trip a few weeks back and had to have a zoo hot dog. It was HOT and we didn't stay there long. It is a beautiful zoo. Hope you get the pond to where you like it and don't wear yourself out. It is raining here and I think that most of the day will be that way. Rained yesterday too. That butterfly that rested on your daughter's leg... how wonderful!

  9. wonderful pics...what a gorgeous mosaic planter you have! your (Indian Maiden?) painting is quite beautiful too! happy T day a bit late...

  10. Your pond looks like a nature haven and I too spotted my first couple of Monarch butterflies. Butterflies are always such a delight. Your photos and encounters are special Carol!
Beautiful painting with the dream catcher like halo.
It has been like a steambath here in northern VA...but hopefully a bit of rain will bring much lower humidity so I can get outside and attack some of our weeds.
Happy Thursday (I am running really late here after a day of doctoring on Tuesday)
