Summer is in full swing and the heat is on. It's also been very dry here so I feel that most of my time at home is used watering gardens and flowers.
The Day Lilies have been stunning this year with color.
These are normally a dark pink but this year have some peach and orange colors which gives it a total new look.
It's been tough trying to garden the last couple of years...Mother Nature has been twisted over something and taking it out on our summers.
Even in the faded stage the flowers are so beautiful!
Yesterday was my birthday and it was a milestone....I turned 60 :0/
My sister and I share the same birthday....see was born on my third birthday. So we have always shared our parties together.
Here is this years picture. The necklace I am wearing is one of my gifts from my daughter. She bought it on her recent trip to Africa. I love it!!!! I will be creating a wall hanging with it as a vocal piece.
It was a grand birthday!!!
Hubby bought be a super dooper Viking sewing machine!!!! :0) I'm so excited to have a good machine again.

Wow! Happy birthday to you and your sister. Love the necklace and that you got a new sewing machine. Cool beans! The day lilies are gorgeous. Mother Nature has been in quite the mood lately, I agree. ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy 60th!
I remember daylilies growing wild and so thick along the roadsides in northern New Hampshire that the road crews mowed them down each summer!

Happy Birthday Week to you and your sister ... Gorgeous day lily colors. Due to the drought last year, I lost many of my unusual colored ones, however, at least the yellow ones survived!!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter has great taste in her selection of jewelry ... enjoy your birthday surprises!

Happy Birthday to you Carol!! Happy Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sis too!
What a lovely necklace.
Our lilies pooped out a long time ago so I will enjoy yours!
What a coincidence. My baby sister and I share a birthday as well. We are fifteen years apart though. I just did a july 4th post about us. Our birthdays are this week and we try to spend our birthday together. But, she lives in Omaha and we could not make it this year.
ReplyDeleteLovely necklace. Happy belated birthday.
